These two SEM photos show TAM's granulated ceramic filter media. The large surface area of the ceramic granules maximizes coverage of the silver, and enables log 7 reduction of pathogens.
For these three ceramic granules, the white specks show bonded silver
Test results indicate variable log reduction of E. coli by varying the amount of silver. The range of reduction is between log 3 (99.90% to log 7 (99.99999%). Leaching of silver has been within the acceptable limits.
